(UDHAN) SAVE THE CHILDREN

We as (UDHAN), in collaboration with Save The Children held 3 days of workshop/seminars for people who are blind and partially sighted in Mogadishu today. We discussed the issue of disability rights and the (UDHAN)members where very excited about the seminar today. Furthermore, Participants were introduced to the categories of disabilities, and how to advocate and seek their rights.
In addition to that, they were taught the ways to promote and protect the rights of people with a disability including Removing the disability stigma that is associated with disable people in general. We learnt how to uphold disability rights by speaking with and writing to people/ other organisations to raise awareness of these sort of problems and how to seek solutions. We have also discussed about the various types of disabilities and how to communicate with and support other people with different disabilities.
